Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former trainer his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first title since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 titles at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, including in that event previously this season.

His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to question if his ability to compete at the top level was over.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an better serve.

He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the final five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first tour title, seized the initiative to force a third set.

The opponent rescued four early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
